NORFOLK, VA--Shortly after shutting out conference foe James Madison, the Old Dominion women's tennis team duplicated that feat by blanking Villanova 7-0. The Lady Monarchs are now 9-3 on the year on the strength of the shut out victory.
In singles action, senior Kerstin Endlich (Neustadt, Germany) came from behind to beat Candice Carlin 6-7, 6-3, 6-3 in a no. 1 face off. Freshman Charleen Haarhoff (Durban, S. Africa) won her contest in straight sets 6-3, 6-2 over Leighann Reilly. Sophomore Fernanda Luiz (Nova Lima, Brazil), junior Larissa Santos (Florianopolis, Brazil), and sophomore Linda Garder (Tallinn, Estonia) also won their contests in straight sets.
On the doubles side, the team of Haarhoff and Luiz won over Reilly and Jaclyn Williamson 8-1, while Kerner and Barbara Costa (Belo Horizonte, Brazil) also won their doubles match 8-1. The Lady Monarchs face Stetson on Friday at 2:30 p.m.
