SUNRISE, FL- Freshman midfielder Trevor Banks (Madison, WI) has been named as one of 23 players invited to the U.S. Under-20 soccer team camp. The U-20 team, coached by former MLS Coach of the Year Thomas Rongen, will begin preparations for the 2007 FIFA U-20 World Cup. Banks was named the CAA Rookie of the Year and College Soccer News 1st-team All-Freshman after a rookie campaign that saw him score six goals and three assists, including three game-winners.
Banks saw action mostly as a midfielder during his first season as a Monarch, and will display his versatility by heading into this camp listed as a defender.
The camp is taking place March 7-13 in Sunrise, FL. Two games are scheduled this week, and www.odusports.com will track Banks and the team's performance as updates become available.
