Lady Monarchs Win 16th Straight With 85-33 Victory over W&M

NORFOLK, VA--Junior forward Sherida Triggs scored 15 points and hauled in13 rebounds to help lead Old Dominion (18-7/ 16-0) to a 85-33 Colonial Athletic Association victory over the Tribe of William and Mary (15-11/11-6) Sunday afternoon.

Five Lady Monarchs scored in double figures. Joining Triggs was Senior Lawona Davis with a game high 16 points, while fellow senior Paula Muxiri tied her career high with 14 points. T.J. Jordan added ten and Shahida Williams scored 12 points.

With William and Mary leading, 11-10 with 13:03 remaining T.J. Jordan hit a treyto make it 13-11 and ODU then went on a 27-11 run the rest of the half.

The Lady Monarch defense held William and Mary to a .218 (12-55) shootingFrom the floor. That is the lowest shooting by an ODU opponent since George MasonShot .231 back on Feb. 10th. In the second half, the Tribe was only .185 (5-27) from the floor. ODU also dominated the boards, 54-30. ODU only committed nine turnovers, tying a season best.

Shantel Wilson hauled down nine rebounds, one shy of her career high, and TishLyons brought down seven and scored eight points.

The Tribe had two players in double fingures led by Devin James and Kyra Kaylor. Kaylor hauled in nine rebounds as well.

The Lady Monarchs return to action on Thursday when they travel to JamesMadison on Thursday and Georgia State on Saturday to finish out the regular season.
