NORFOLK, VA - ODU Sailing placed fifth at the College of Charleston Spring Intersectional this weekend with 175 points. Charleston took first at the event with 115 points.

A and B division both completed twelve races over the two-day event. Gold Cup courses were sailed in mostly northerly winds from 5 to 12 knots. Three protests were filed, two of which resulted in disqualification.

Sailing A division for the Monarchs, Charles Higgins with crew Jennifer Adams, took third place with 63 points. Skipper Michael Collins and crew Jaclyn Finney finished tenth in B division with 112 points.

The Monarchs take to the water again as they are scheduled to compete in the MAISA Team Race, and the Bob Bavier Team Race, this weekend beginning February 25.
