NORFOLK, VA-- Senior defender Trevor McEachron (Woodbridge, VA) and senior forward Brian Cvilikas (Highlands Ranch, CO) were both selected in the Major League Soccer Supplemental Draft on Thursday. McEachron was chosen with the 12th pick in the 1st round by the L.A Galaxy, while Cvilikas was selected in the 3rd round with the 29th overall selection by the MetroStars. They are the second and third Monarchs to be picked in the MLS draft, following the lead of former Monarch great Kevon Harris in 2004.

McEachron was also named to the All-South Atlantic regional team for the third time in his ODU career, and was selected as a 1st-team All-American in 2003.Cvilikas, the 2005 CAA Player of the Year, led the conference in goals (15) and points (30) this past season. Through the course of the season,
Cvilikas also picked up College Soccer News Player of the Week, Soccer America Player of the Week, and CAA Player of the Week honors. He was also selected as a 2nd team All-American by College Soccer News, and 3rd team All-American by the NSCAA. Cvilikas will join former Monarch standout Carlos Mendes as a member of the MetroStars.
Cvilikas and McEachron led the Monarchs to a 15-4-2 record under Coach Alan Dawson this year, leading the Monarchs to a CAA regular season title and an appearance in the 2nd round of the NCAA Tournament for the fourth consecutive season. ODU was also ranked as high as #2 in the nation at one point in the season.
These two Monarch greats will now head to their respective camps in the coming weeks in hopes of making an MLS roster.
