NORFOLK, VA--Freshman midfielder Bobby Foglesong (Fredericksburg, VA) was honored as the CAA Rookie of the Week on Monday for his performance against William & Mary in the regular season finale. Foglesong scored his first collegiate goal, a game-winning goal in the 76th minute of play off an assist from junior Gregg Mottinger (Carollton, TX). He also fed an assist to senior Brian Cvilikas (Highlands Ranch, CO) in the overtime session of the Towson match the week before.
Foglesong joins freshman Trevor Banks (Madison, WI) and sophomore Yomby William (Bafoussam, Cameroon) as members of the Monarch rookie class who have been honored as CAA Rookies of the Week this season.
On the strength of their 2-0 shutout win over the Tribe, Old Dominion moved up in all four national polls this week. College Soccer News, Soccer Times, and Soccer America all have the Monarchs ranked #7 nationally, while NSCAA/adidas coaches poll rank ODU 8th in the land.
ODU hosts the CAA semifinals and finals this weekend. ODU will face either VCU or UNC-Wilmington Friday night at 7:00 p.m.
