NORFOLK, Va. - The Old Dominion women's basketball program has announced that forward Shahida Williams (Newark, N.J.) will not be a part of the active roster until further notice.
"Shahida will continue to build a strong academic foundation at Old Dominion," said head coach Wendy Larry. "She will continue her workouts with the team and we look forward to her challenging her teammates daily in practice until her return."
The Lady Monarchs, winners of an NCAA record 14 straight Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) titles, will play in two more exhibition contest before opening the 2005-06 regular season. Old Dominion will host Athletes in Action on Monday, November 7th, and Team Concept on Sunday, November 13th. The regular season gets underway during Homecoming Weekend as the Lady Monarchs host Duke on Sunday, November 20th.
