NORFOLK, VA--. The Old Dominion University Soccer Monarchs saw their 32-match regular season home-unbeaten streak end as they lost to JMU 2-1. Kurt Morsink scored the game winner at the 95:39 mark to give the Dukes the win. The Monarchs are now 11-2-2 (6-1-1) while JMU improves to 9-4-2(5-2-1)

JMU got on the board early in the 8th minute as Mike Tuddenham sent a low cross to Jon Britton in the box who tapped it past the keeper. Senior forward Brian Cvilikas (Highlands Ranch, CO) headed in a cross from Edson Elcock (Brooklyn, NY) to knot the score at 1-1. Ross Mackenzie (Midlothian, VA) also notched an assist on that goal. Morsink got past the ODU line of defense and placed a shot past the keeper from 15 yards out for the deciding goal.

ODU outshot the Dukes 16-12, and were even in corner kicks 5-5. Senior keeper John Connelly (Rockville, MD) stopped five shots for ODU, while James Madison goalie Kevin Trapp made nine saves on the day. ODU remains in sole possession of first place in the conference.

The Monarchs return to action Friday night as they travel to take on George Mason in conference action.
