KING'S POINT, NY - The Old Dominion sailing team finished ninth at the Nevins Trophy, with 379 points. Competition on Saturday was delayed due to light winds from the south. Several races were canceled due to a lightning storm. Sunday racing began promptly in the morning with a shifty northerly winds at 3-8 knots, after lunch 4 more races were completed in an extremely shifty northerly wind with a strong upwind current.
Charles Higgins (Arlington, TX) and Jennifer Adams (Montclair,VA) finished third in A division with 87 points, while the team of Michael Collins (Bayport, NY), Jaci Finney (Hampton, VA), and Michael Smith (Newport News, VA) finished 13 in B division with 163 points. Bobby Noonan (Fort Lauderdale, FL) finished ninth in C division with 129 points. Boston College won the regatta with 212 points.
