Monarchs Place Fourth At The Riley Cup

NORFOLK, VA - The Old Dominion sailing team took fourth place in the Riley Cup this weekend. The Monarchs placed third in A division and sixth in B division allowing them to take fourth overall with 171 points. Georgetown took first at the event with 87 points.

Also this weekend, Old Dominion sailors competed in the BYO Radial. Cara DiSanti (Seacliffe, NY) placed sixth with 131 points, while Maureen Castruccio (Pleasanton, CA) took 14th with 184 points, and Alissa Ayers (Trenton, NJ) grabbed the 17th spot with 322 points. University of Virginia's Leah Hoepfner placed first in the event with 32 points.

After dealing with very light winds throughout the event, senior Charles Higgins (Arlington, TX) placed sixth at the Navy Laser Open in Annapolis, Maryland this weekend with 63 points. Bobby Noonan (Fort Lauderdale, FL) and David Tunnicliffe (Pittsburgh, PA) finished in the 17th and 18th spots as well for the Monarchs. Geaorgetown's Andrew Campbell placed first at the Navy Laser Open with 7 points.
