Seattle Gives Anne Donovan 100th WNBA Career Win

SEATTLE, WA--The Seattle Storm defeated Minnesota, 76-60 ThursdayNight to give head coach and ODU basketball Hall of Famer Anne Donovan('83) her 100th career win in the WNBA. She's the fourth coach in WNBAhistory and the first woman to reach that milestone .

The defending league champion Seattle Storm are currently 17-13 and in second place in theWNBA Western Division, behind the Sacramento Monarchs who are led byLady Monarch alumni Ticha Penicheiro ('98) and Hamchetou Maiga ('01).

Last year, Donovan became the first woman coach to lead a team to the WNBATitle. She is a member of the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame, the Women'sBasketkball Hall of Fame, the ODU Sports Hall of Fame, the CoSIDA AcademicHall of Fame and the Virginia Sports Hall of Fame.

The three other WNBA head coaches to have already reach 100 career winsare Van Chancellor, Michael Cooper and Richie Adubato.
