Donovan To Coach WNBA Western All-Stars

NORFOLK, VA-- Former Lady Monarch great and basketball Hall of Famemember Anne Donovan ('83) will be the head coach of the WesternConference at the WNBA All-Star game Saturday. The game will be televised at 4 p.m. on ABC.

Two-time All-American Ticha Penicheiro ('98) currently ranks fourthin the WNBA in free throw percentage at .917. She ranks tenth in theleague in assists at 4.1 and is averaging 6.5 points per game. Sacramentoleads the Western Conference with an 11-5 record. Earlier this season,Ticha tied her single game career high with 16 against Los Angeles.

Adrienne Goodson ('88) is averaging 3.8 points per game and 2.0rebounds per game for the Houston Comets. Houston is in second placewith an 8-5 record. Earlier this year Goodson scored her 1,500th careerpoint on June 25 against her old team, San Antonio.

Hamchetou Maiga ('03) is averaging 2.8 points per game and 1.1 reboundsfor Sacramento.

Anne Donovan's defending WNBA champion Seattle Storm are currently8-8 and tied for fourth in the Western Conference.
