Monarchs Host CAA Leading UNCW In Home Finale

NORFOLK, VA--Old Dominion (22-30/5-16) hosts the Seahawks of UNCWilmington in a three-game Colonial Athletic Association seriesbeginning Thursday night at 7 p.m. This is the final homestand ofthe season for ODU.

The Seahawks are 36-17 overall and lead the CAA with an 18-3 record. Tim Preston leads UNCW and the CAA with 87 basehits. He ranks fourth in theleague at .390, followed by John Raynor at .380. As a team, UNCWleads the league in hitting at .319, and are second in pitching at 4.08 (ERA).

Ronald Hill is 9-4 with a 3.36 earned run average followed by Jeff Moore at 5-1 with a 3.51 ERA. Hill is scheduled to pitch Thursday, Zach Kimballis scheduled to pitch Friday and Moore on Saturday for the Seahawks

The Monarchs are led by sophomore firstbaseman Bryan Cipolla witha .332 batting average. He leads the CAA in RBI with 67, three aheadof UNCW's Matt Poulk.

Evan Chipman is third in the CAA with 24 stolen bases. He is currentlyhitting .301. Tyler Belcher is hitting .307 with 33 runs batted in.

On the mound Kyle Dubois is 5-1 with a 3.78 ERA. Dana Arrowood is4-5 with a 3.86 ERA. Dubois ranks fourth in the CAA with 68 strikeoutsin 64 innings, while Arrowood is fifth with 67 strikeouts in 87 innings.Arrowood is scheduled to pitch on Thursday night.

ODU seniors Evan Chipman, Ronnie Stahl and James Burok will be honoredbefore Saturday's 5 p.m. start.
