Bryan Cipolla Named CAA Player Of The Week

NORFOLK, VA--The Colonial Athletic Association named sophomore first baseman Bryan Cipolla (Plainview, NY.) this week's Player of The Week.

Cipolla hit .667 (8-12) with three doubles, a homer, three runs scored andeight runs batted in as the Monarchs won two of their three CAA games at Towsonover the weekend.

Cippola keyed a four-run ninth inning rally in Friday's 6-5 victory, smackinga two-run single to tied the game, and then coming across to score the winning run.In Saturday's 16-9 win over the Tigers, Cipolla was 4-for-5 with a homer andfive RBI. Cipolla, who had atleast two hits in all three games is hitting .349 for theseasons and leads the CAA with 57 runs batted in. He leads the team with sixhomers and is second on the team with 32 runs scored. Cipolla is also tied for theleague lead in doubles with 16.

Senior outfielder Evan Chipman (Raleigh, NC.) is tied for the CAA lead in triples with Five and is third in steals with 17. Kyle Dubois (Virginia Beach, VA.) is third in the CAA with 54 strikeouts In 46 innings, while Dana Arrowood (Arlington, VA.) is fifth with 52 in 63 innings.

The Monarchs hit the road Wednesday afternoon in Washington, DC whenthey play George Washington.
