TOWSON, MD-- Bryan Cipolla and C.J. Jacinto each knocked in five runsto lead the Monarchs to a 16-9 victory over Towson Saturday afternoonat Schuerholz Park.

ODU is now 20-20 overall and 4-7 in the CAA, while the Tigers are16-16 overall and 4-7 in the CAA.

ODU exploded for seven runs in the first as Bryan Cipolla slammeda three-run homer, scoring Chris Keenan, and Evan Chipman. Twobatters later, C.J. Jacinto hit his first homer as a Monarch withTyler Belcher aboard.

Towson rallied with five runs in the first and two runs in thesecond to tie the game. ODU then took the lead for good in the fourthas Cipolla doubled home Chris Keenan and Tyler Belcher singled homeEvan Chipman.

In the sixth inning, ODU scored seven more runs as Jacinto hammereda three-run shot with Belcher and Cipolla aboard. Cipolla also singledhome Chipman in the sixth inning.

Kyle Dubois (4-0) picked up the win in relief. He came on in the first and pitched 6.2 innings allowing just two runs and fanning eightbatters. At one stretch he retired ten batters in a row. HunterHall pitched the final two innings.

Cipolla had four hits in five at-bats, while Evan Chipman, Tyler Belcher,C.J. Jacinto and Patrick Nichols each had two hits. Chris Keenan and Chipman both scored three times on the day. Cipolla now leads the CAAwith 57 runs batted in.

Towson was led by Shane Justis with three hits, while Greg Furmanek andRyan Schreiter each knocked in two runs for Towson. Towson leads theNCAA with 64 homers in 32 games, it two more today. Furmanek hit atwo-run shot in the ninth and Adam Heffron hit a solo shot in the second.

The two teams play the third and final game of the CAA series on Sundayat 1 p.m.
