NORFOLK, Va. -- The Old Dominion women's basketball team, winners of the last 14 straight Colonial Athletic Association Crowns, will be heading to Minneapolis, Minnesota for their first round of their 22nd NCAA Tournament appearance. The 11th seeded Lady Monarchs will face the sixth-seeded Virginia Cavaliers on Saturday, March 19th at Williams Arena.

The Lady Monarchs (22-8 overall) previously faced the Cavaliers back December 11th falling 64-72 in Charlottesville.

Old Dominion in led by three-time CAA Most Outstanding Player in senior guard Shareese Grant (Va. Beach, Va.). Grant, who netted a career-high 35 points in the Lady Monarchs' thrilling overtime game against Delaware is leading Old Dominion averagng 15.0 points per game. On the boards, rookie Tiffany Green, an CAA All-Rookie Team member, is grabbing on average 8.3 per game and leads ODU with eight double-doubles on the year.

The Lady Monarchs have won an NCAA record 14 straight conference titles and appeared in the NCAA Tournament 22 times, with only Tennessee and La. Tech making more appearances.

Should the Lady Monarchs advance, Old Dominion will face the winner of #2 Minnesota and #14 St. Francis (Pa.). That game will take place on Monday, March 21st.
