NORFOLK, Va. - Old Dominion freshman forward Tiffany Green (Chesapeake, Va.) earned Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Rookie of the Week honors it was announced Monday afternoon by the conference office. Green averaged 14.3 points and 11.0 rebounds in games against Harvard, #5/7 North Carolina, and #8 Tennessee.
Green, who had played scholastically at nearby Indian River High School, collected three double-doubles over the holidays as the Lady Monarchs defeated Harvard 83-55 and took on two Top 25 teams. Against Harvard, Green, in her second career start, picked up her first career double-double with 12 points and a game-high 11 rebounds. She followed with a team-leading 19 points and 11 rebounds at #5/7 North Carolina. Green continued to shine as she picked up double-double number three with a team-high 12 points and game-high 11 rebounds against #8 Tennessee.
Over the course of the last three games, Green shot .536 percent from the floor while averaging 14.3 points and 11.0 rebounds. Additionally, she has moved into second on the Lady Monarch squad in scoring.
The Lady Monarchs return to action on Thursday, January 6th when they travel to Harrisonburg, Virginia to take on James Madison at 7:00 p.m. to open the CAA portion of their schedule.
