VIRGINIA BEACH, VA - The Virginia Beach Mariners drafted former Old Dominion men's soccer midfielder Kevon Harris in the USL First Division College Draft Monday, making Harris the fourth overall pick.

Kevon Harris, from Kingston, Jamaica, was named College Soccer News First Team All-America, to the All-CAA First Team, to the VaSID First Team and the NSCAA/Adidas All-American Second Team this season.  In addition, he was named to the College Soccer News Team of the Week twice in 2004.  He led the Monarchs in scoring with seven goals and five assists in 21 games and led ODU to its third straight appearance in the NCAA Tournament.  In 2003, he was named to the All-CAA First Team, the All-South Atlantic Second Team and the VaSID All-State Second Team, scoring four goals and five assists.

 

Harris, who is majoring in mechanical engineering, was a member of Jamaica's U-20 World Cup team and was the Major League Rookie of the Year with his club in '98-'99.
