WILLIAMSBURG, VA  --  The #4 Old Dominion men's soccer team battled American University to a 1-1 tie Friday evening in the William & Mary Nike Classic, held at Albert-Daly Field in Williamsburg.  Kevon Harris (Kingston, Jamaica) scored the lone Monarch goal for the game.  The Monarchs remain unbeaten and are now 5-0-1.  American is currently 4-3-1.

Kevon Harris game the Monarchs a 1-0 lead in the ninth minute of the game, from an Edson Elcock (Brooklyn, NY) assist from the right side of the box.  In the second half, American struck back, when Sean Albright scored an unassisted goal in the 54th minute of action to tie the game at 1-1.  Two scoreless overtime sessions resulted in a 1-1 tie.

 

For the game, American out-shot ODU 13-11, while both teams were even on corner kicks, with eight each.  Goalkeeper John Connelly (Rockville, MD) made four saves and allowed one goal in 110 minutes of action.

 

ODU faces Hartwick Sunday at noon in the final day of the Nike Classic.
