BLACKSBURG, VA.-- Kevon Harris (Kingston, Jamaica), Kyle Hartley (Va.Beach, Va.), and Kevin McMenamin (West Springfield, MA.) each scored a goal to lead the #9 Monarchs to a 3-2 exhibition win over #21 Virginia Tech Saturday evening.

With the Hokies leading, 1-0, Harris scored six minutes into the match off a corner. Ross MacKenzie served the ball in to Brian Cvilikas who headed the ball on goal. Tech keeper Drew Czenkanski made the initial save, but Kevon Harris pushed in the rebound for the score.

The Monarchs struck quickly in the second half as Kyle Hartley (Kempsville HS) took a cross from Harris at the right post ad put the ball past Czekanski in the 46th minute. ODU scored their final goal just two minutes later when McMenamin dribbled the ball past two Tech defenders and chipped the ball over a charging Czekanski from 12 yards out. The Hokies last goal was scored by Dustin Dyer at the 57 minute.

The Monarchs host North Carolina State next Saturday night (Aug. 28) at 7 p.m. in a rematch of last year's NCAA first round game.
