Lady Monarchs In The ESPN/USA Today/WBCA Poll

NORFOLK, Va. -- The Old Dominion women's basketball received votes for the fifth straight week in the ESPN/USA Today/WBCA Poll released on Tuesday. The Lady Monarchs (4-1) will take on Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia on Friday night at 7:00 p.m.

Other notable teams in the rankings include Lady Monarch opponents North Carolina at No. 7, falling from No. 4 after a loss to Penn State. Tennessee was ranked at No. 9 by the coaches, while Rutgers fell to No. 24.

Also joining the Lady Monarchs in the receiving votes category was Georgia Tech. The Yellow Jackets defeated the Lady Monarchs in their 2004-05 season opener and also upset Georgia last week. Penn State, who knocked off North Carolina, and will face the Lady Monarch next weekend also appeared in the category.
