NORFOLK, VA -Jared Kent (Marietta, GA) scored in the 69th minute of play to lead the Old Dominion men's soccer team to a 1-0 win over Drexel Friday night at the ODU Soccer Stadium. The Monarchs won their first Colonial Athletic Association contest of the season, improving to 6-3-1 overall and 1-2 in the CAA. The win ends ODU's three game skid and extends their home unbeaten streak to 22 games. Drexel falls to 3-6-0 overall and 0-1 in the CAA.

After a scoreless first half, Sophomore midfielder Jared Kent connected with the goal, off assists by Kevin McMenamin (West Springfield, MA) and Kevon Harris (Kingston, Jamaica). The goal was Kent's first for the season.
For the game, the Monarchs out-shot Drexel 9-7, while the Dragons had the 5-2 advantage on corner kicks. Goalkeeper John Connelly (Rockville, MD) earned his fourth shutout of the season, saving three shots.
The Monarchs are back in action Sunday, when they host Hofstra at 1:00.
