NORFOLK, VA -The #25 Old Dominion men's soccer team handed #9 James Madison their first loss of the season Friday night, defeating the Dukes 1-0 at the ODU Soccer Stadium. Kevon Harris (Kingston, Jamaica) scored the game-winning goal early in the second half, as ODU improves to 9-3-2 overall and 4-2-1 in the Colonial Athletic Association. The Monarchs, unbeaten in their last five contests, extended their home unbeaten streak to 23 games and moved into second place in the CAA. JMU drops to 12-1-1 overall and 4-1-0 in the CAA.

After a scoreless first half, Kevon Harris scored his team-leading fifth goal of the season in the 46th minute of action, off a pass from Ian Kaila (Fredericksburg, VA) to put ODU on top 1-0. In a very closely contested game, JMU out-shot the Monarchs 12-9 and had a 6-3 corner kicks edge. Goalkeeper John Connelly (Rockville, MD) saved four shots en route to his sixth shutout of the season.
The Monarchs are back in action Sunday when they host George Mason. Game time is at 2:30, following the women's soccer match against Hofstra.
