NORFOLK, VA -Senior Anna Tunnicliffe (Perrysburg, OH) will attempt to win a third straight MAISA Women's Singlehanded Championship this weekend at the U.S. Naval Academy, to begin her quest for a record-setting third consecutive ICSA Women's Singlehanded Championship. ODU will also compete in the Danmark Trophy in New London, CT and the Tom Curtis Regatta in Washington, DC.

Joining Tunnicliffe at the MAISA Women's Singlehanded Championship will be senior Maureen Castruccio (Pleasanton, CA) and sophomore Cara DiSanti (Seacliff, NY). The top three finishers will qualify for the ICSA Women's Singlehanded Championship October 22-24 in Wayzata, MN. Last year, Anna Tunnicliffe made history as she became the first sailor to ever win back-to-back ICSA Women's Singlehanded Championships.
ODU will also be competing in the Danmark Trophy, held at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in New London, CT. Sailing in A division is Bill Berg (Longwood, FL) and Vincent Fontimayor (Virginia Beach, VA). In B division, Charles Higgins (Arlington, TX) and Christabelle Fernandez (Virginia Beach, VA) will team up.
