NORFOLK, VA - The #12 Old Dominion men's soccer team will hit the road for the opening weekend of Colonial Athletic Association play, as the Monarchs travel to UNC-Wilmington Friday for a 7:00 match-up and #22 Virginia Commonwealth Sunday afternoonfor a1:00 game.

The Monarchs are currently 5-1-1, after going 0-1-1 in the William & Mary Tribe Nike Classic last weekend. ODU battled American to a 1-1 tie and was defeated by Hartwick 1-0. ODU is ranked #12 in the NSCAA/Adidas coaches poll, #13 in the College Soccer News poll and #15 in the Soccer Times poll.
UNC-Wilmington is 6-1-1 overall and 3-1-0 at home. The Monarchs are 9-3 all-time against the Seahawks, winning at the ODU Soccer Stadium 1-0 in 2003. UNC-Wilmington is led by Junior Forward Sam Leger, with nine points (four goals, one assist).
Virginia Commonwealth, ranked #22 in the College Soccer News poll, has a 4-2-1 record going into the weekend games. The Rams defeated North Carolina 5-2 at the Carolina Nike Classic last month. ODU has a 17-6-4 record against VCU, winning 2-1 at the ODU Soccer Stadium last year.
