NORFOLK, VA  -The Old Dominion University sailing team received a preseason ranking of #4 for the women's team, while the co-ed team garnered a #17 ranking, according to the Sailing World College Preseason Rankings.  The rankings are determined by the sailing coaches at Georgetown, Tufts and USC.

The co-ed squad lost four men to graduation, including 2003-04 co-ed MVP, Jack Kerr, but should still be a factor on the national scene again this year.  The women will be led once again by back-to-back ICSA Women's Singlehanded Champion and last year's Quantum Award finalist, Senior Anna Tunnicliffe (Perrysburg, OH).  Also returning for the women will be Christabelle Fernandez (Virginia Beach, VA), who teamed with Tunnicliffe for much of the 2003-04 season and Maureen Castruccio (Pleasanton, CA).

The ODU sailing season begins September 11-12, when the Monarchs host the Riley Cup and ODU Radial and travel to compete in Dartmouth's Captain Hurst Bowl and the Navy Laser Open.
