WILMINGTON, NC-- Ronald Hill scattered seven hits and went the distance for histenth win of the year as UNC Wilmington defeated ODU, 5-2 Friday night, ending theMonarchs 11-game winning streak. ODU is now 26-25 overall and 13-10 in the CAA,while UNCW is 32-20 overall, 16-6 in the CAA.

With the game tied at two, Steven Harris and Dana Arrowood scored when centerfielderChip Grawey dropped Allen Strick's fly ball with two outs.

UNCW re-took the lead in the seventh as Tim Preston singled, then scored on a doubleby Matt Poulk. The Seahawks then added two more unearned runs in the eighth to makeit 5-2.

Ronald Hill walked no one and fanned seven to run his record to 10-3. James Burokwas ODU's loser in relief. Keith Hahn led the Monarchs with three hits in fourat bats to up his batting average to .336.

The same two teams will play the third and final game of the CAA series on Saturdayat 2 p.m. The CAA tournament begins next Wednesday here in Wilmington. The 11-gamewinning streak was the longest for ODU since the 2000 season when the Monarchs won12 straight.
