RALEIGH, NC-- Five N.C. State pitchers held ODU to five hits as 22nd ranked North Carolina State defeated the Monarchs, 10-1 at Doak Field Tuesday night. ODU isnow 12-13, while N.C. State is 18-8. Because of rain in the Raleigh area, the contest didnot start until 8:30 p.m.

The Monarchs took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first as Keith Hahn (Valley Stream, NY.) led off with a walk, then later scored on Brandon Carter's sacrifice fly. Evan Chipman (Raleigh, NC.) and Steven Harris (Va. Beach, Va.-Kellam) led ODU with two hits each on the night.

Bryan Kinneberg led N.C. State with three hits, while Matt Camp, Jason St.Julien, Lee Mezistrano and Jake Muyco each had two hits. Muyco and Mezistranoeach knocked in two runs for the Wolpack. ODU returns to action on Friday for thefirst of a three-game CAA series at George Mason. Gametime Friday is 2:30 p.m.
