Norfolk, VA - Old Dominion University will host the Mideast Regional on Sunday, March 28, with games at noon and 2:30 p.m., and Tuesday, March 30, with the regional final at 7 p.m., with a berth in the Final Four in New Orleans Sunday and Tuesday, April 4 and 6.
ODU coach Wendy Larry, in a letter to Lady Monarch fans, thanked them for their support and urged the university community to patronize the tournament. Attendance at the regional will affect future NCAA decisions whether to hold tournaments here, Larry said.
"I like to believe Old Dominion helped put women's basketball on the national map," she said. "On Sunday, four of the best teams in the nation will square off in games. Let's show the nation that we support women's basketball."
Regional tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for students and youth (17 and under). Tournament books are still available that include all three games for $30 for adults and $20 for youth and students. Single day orders may be purchased on Monday by phone by contacting Ticketmaster at 671-8000 after 10 a.m.
