Old Dominion University Head Coach Wendy Larry
Opening Comments:
"I think we are fortunate that we shot the ball well today, especially on the foul line, and got a lot of stops. We were thinking that today, you have to win games, you have to get back into the finals, you have to play hard, you have to win."
On the Short Rest Between Games:
"It's tournament time, there is no rest. Yesterday we had a lot of rest, and we have to get back into it. We have six months to rest in the off-season."
On Delaware's Run Back:
"You play with a lot of emotion and emotional energy runs dry. We had some bad combinations out on the court and we lost some of our emotional charge."
On Player Combinations Against George Mason:
"Tomorrow, we will have to go small against George Mason at times. When you play Mason you have to star trap."
On Double-teaming Delaware:
"Delaware is so strong on the blocks, and our goal was to make other players score and I think we did that."
Senior Forward, Myriah Spence
"I wanted to come back from yesterday; pick my team up and shoot some shots. I was feeling it today. I just wanted to lift my team up."
Delaware Head Coach Tina Martin
Opening Comments:
"Old Dominion showed why they are champions in the first half and we showed why we are winners in the second half. For a while, we played an "A" game and for that I'm very proud of my kids. This was a good experience for them. We showed some character tonight."
On Old Dominion:
"They are the best team in the league. I have a lot of respect for them. It is very difficult to full court press Old Dominion with the type of athletes they have. We can't match them. We were sticking with our game plan, to stay in the zone."
On Next Year's Team:
"We are going to have a quality team next year and I am excited about what we have to build on in the future. Everyone we have now is returning except Tracey Howell and we're ready to regroup, get in the weight room, and start again."
Junior Forward, Tiara Malcolm
"We fought in the second half and it shows a lot of character on our part. We made a couple of mistakes and they capitalized off of it."
Sophomore Guard, Amanda Blackstone
"I was just fighting for our team. I did not think it was over so I didn't play like it was over. I just kept fighting."
