NORFOLK, VA-Old Dominion University pounded out 13 hits and freshmanAndrew Bucher (Va. Beach, VA.-Tallwood HS) picked up his second win of the seasonin a 13-2 victory over Norfolk State Wednesday afternoon. ODU is 6-6, NSU is 6-9.
Junior Evan Chipman(Raleigh, NC.) had three hits, scored three times and knocked in three runs on the day, while Eric Mesa (Miami,FL.) had three hits and tworuns batted in. In the sixth inning, senior Allen Strick (Glen Burnie, Md.) homered with Steven Harris (Va.Beach, Va.-Kellam HS) aboard. It was Strick's second homer in asmany days.
Bucher pitched six innings allowing two runs and fanning five. Jason Godin(Stafford, VA.) pitched the last three innings. Darryl Chever led NSU with two hits, while Wesley Bush knocked in a run (Brandon Norvell) for the Spartans.
ODU hosts Princeton in a three-game series beginning Friday at 3 p.m.
