Women's Basketball Takes Out George Mason, 81-64

FAIRFAX, Va. - Senior forward Monique Coker matched hercareer-high of 17 rebounds and netted a team-best 22 points to lead OldDominion to (21-6, 16-1 CAA) an 81-64 victory over George Mason (16-8,11-6) in women's basketball action on senior day at the Patriot CenterSunday afternoon.

Prior to tip-off, seniors Jen Derevjanik (Sr.; Staten Island, NY),forward Vernessa Neamo (Forestville, MD), forward Susan Otim (Fairfax,VA), center Osato Edobor-Osula (Queens, NY), guard Lynnette Clark(Mitchellville, MD) and Lesley Harvey (F; Burke, VA) were honored fortheir four years of hard work and dedication to the Patriot women'sbasketball team.

Neamo registered her sixth double-double of the season with a game-high26 points and a team-best 10 rebounds, while Derevjanik poured in a teamsecond-best 19 points and added a game-high five steals in her last gamein a Mason uniform at the PC. Junior guard Laura Kooij (Den Helder,Holland) added 10 points for the Patriots in 32 minutes of play.

Senior guard Max Nhassengo shot 6-of-9 from the field to amass 15 pointsfor the Lady Monarchs, while junior guard Shareese Grant added 11points, as well as four assists. Senior forward Myriah Spence chipped in10 points and junior forward Paula Muxiri came off the bench to mimicSpence's effort after shooting 3-of-5 on the afternoon.

Mason shot 23-of-63 from the field (37 percent), while ODU was 29-of-54on the night (54 percent). ODU outrebounded the Patriots, 43-31, butMason registered 12 steals to the Lady Monarch's nine. ODU scored 23points off turnovers to Mason's 12 and fastbreak points were even at 12a piece.

The Patriots will return to action on Thurs., Mar. 4 when they travel toNewark, DE, to face Delaware at 7 p.m. for both teams final regularseason game.
