CHARLESTON, SC-The University of Richmond behind the pitching ofThomas Martin and Matt McLoughlin held ODU to three hits for a 9-0 victory inday two of the Citadel/Homewood Suites Baseball Shootout. UR is 2-0, ODUdrops to 2-3, as Monarch ace Justin Verlander, who gave up two runs suffered hisfirst loss of the season.

Richmond scored two runs in the first inning as Jim Fasano doubled homeBen Zeskind. Fasano would later score on a wild pitch from third base.

Verlander pitched seven innings allowing two runs, walking five and strikingout ten. The Spiders then scored seven more runs in the final two innings.

Jim Fasano led UR with two hits and three runs batted in, while AndrewJustice and Josh Farkes each knocked in two runs. Bryan Fritz and Bobby LeNoireach had two hits for the Spiders. ODU will play host The Citadel Sunday at 3 p.m.in the final game of the tournament.
