NORFOLK, VA -- Fans will get the opportunity to come watch the 2003-04 Old Dominion women's basketball team in their first exhibition showing in the annual Blue-White Scrimmage on Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m. at the Ted Constant Convocation Center. .
The Lady Monarchs are looking towards "lucky 13" in hopes of capturing their 13th straight Colonial Athletic Association Conference title and advancing further into the NCAA Tournament.
Old Dominion returns three starters from last year's 21-11 squad. Senior forward Monique Coker (Bronx, NY) has already grabbed Preseason First Team All-CAA honors and will join junior guard Shareese Grant (Va. Beach, VA), last year's CAA Tournament MVP, and sophomore center Corrina Turner (Miami, FL), the conference's leading shot blocker.
Fans will also get a chance to see the Lady Monarchs' four newcomers. Shantel Wilson (Washington, D.C.), who redshirted last season, will take to the court for her second Blue-White appearance. She will be joined by freshman Tish Lyons (Newport News, VA), Sherida Triggs (Norcross, GA), and Angela Brown (Albany, KY).
The Blue-White Scrimmage will be two 16-minute halves and will be the first of three exhibition showings for the Lady Monarchs. Old Dominion tunes up with Basketball Travlers on Tuesday, November 4th and Team Concept on Tuesday, November 11th before tackling the country's second toughest non-conference schedule beginning with the WBCA Preseason Classic.
