NORFOLK - Old Dominion University has granted field hockey coach Beth Anders a leave of absence in order that she may assume the United States National Field Hockey team head coaching position as the U.S. attempts to qualify for the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, Greece.
"Everyone at Old Dominion wishes Beth the best as she takes on this new challenge and we look forward to her return to our program," says athletic director Jim Jarrett.
ODU assistant coach Sue Myers, who has been on Anders staff for the past 15 years, will assume the head coaching responsibilities of the ODU field hockey team during Anders absence.
