WILSON, NC -- Stephen Wendell had a double and a single and drove in four runsfriday to lead Princeton over ODU, 12-4 at Fleming Stadium in the first day of theN.C. State Baseball Tournament. ODU is now 5-11, and Princeton is 1-5.
ODU centerfielder Brent Sollenberger had a double and drove in two runs for theMonarchs, while designated hitter and leadoff hitter Evan Chipman had a singleand two stolen bases.
Wendell got Princeton off to a 1-0 start with an RBI groundout in the top of the first,singled home a run in the Tigers' four-run fourth, and doubled home two more inthe four-run rally in the top of the sixth. David Boehle picked up the win forPrinceton, allowing only one earned run.
ODU plays host N.C. State Saturday at 1 p.m.
