Old Dominion (72) vs Towson (46)
Corrina Turner, Redshirt Freshman, Center,
"It is always fun to win. In practice we focus on getting to the glass more and we are trying to get more rebounds from the big 3: myself, Monique (Coker), and Kim (Giddens). The jumper is something I am trying to work into my game."
Head Coach, Wendy Larry
"Corrina (Turner) and Kim (Giddens) complimented each other very well tonight. If and when the time comes that we take care of the basketball a little bit better we will be a team to watch out for. Our starters were unselfish and got it done to give other members minutes. The 'big three' (Coker, Giddens, and Turner) have a great deal of presence when they are out there together. When they are not fatigued they are a pretty phenomenal front line. We definitely set a standard."
Towson
Head Coach, Joe Matthews:
"A lot of credit should be given tonight for Wendy Larry and Old Dominion, they showed tonight why they are one of the favorites and they did a terrific job on both ends. They were quicker and stronger than we were. A lot of credit goes to Corrina Turner as well. She could possibly move up and play nationally one day.
We knew coming in what competition Old Dominion would be, they are very aggressive on the glass and seemed a little more hungry. If Corrina keeps playing like that they will move up to a different level. They have pride to take it up and defend their title.
