CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) - Candace Sutton had 17 points and six rebounds tolead No. 16 North Carolina to a 90-54 win over Old Dominion on Sunday.

Corretta Brown added 16, including 11 in the opening five minutes, and NorthCarolina (6-1) seized control by outscoring the Lady Monarchs 34-12 over thefinal 15 minutes of the period.

Shareese Grant led Old Dominion (1-4) with career-high 23 points on 10-for-17 shooting.Grant's teammates shot 11-for-50 (22 percent) in the game. Grant's previous high was 22 last year against CAA rival Virginia Commonwealth on January 4, 2002 during her freshman campaign.

Monique Coker added 10 points for Old Dominion, but Kim Giddens and OkeishaHoward shot a combined 0-for-15 and failed to score.

Jessica Sell scored 11 points in a reserve role for North Carolina, andJennifer Thomas finished with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Reserve Nikita Bellhad seven points, 11 rebounds and five assists in 20 minutes.

The Tar Heels outrebounded Old Dominion 53-34.
