NORFOLK, VA.-- Rasheed Wright (Greensboro, NC.) scored 18 points and hauled in nine rebounds to lead the Monarchs of Old Dominion University to a 72-43 non conference victory over Campbell University Monday night at the Ted Constant Convocation Center.
Wright also had three assists and three steals on the night. Senior Ricardo Marsh (Mebane, NC.) added 14 points and freshman Isaiah Hunter (Charlotte, NC.) chipped in with ten points.
Old Dominion led by 12 at halftime, 37-25, then outscored the Fighting Camels 29-6 in thenext ten minutes to take a 55-29 lead with 10:43 left in the game. In that stretch RicardoMarsh and Rasheed Wright each scored six points, and red-shirt freshman T.J. Waldon scored four points.
ODU shot .531 (26-49) from the floor, while Campbell shot .311 (14-45). Campbell turnedthe ball over 19 times, while ODU had 13 turnovers.
Campbell's last lead in the game was13-12 with 11:27 left in the first half. The fightingCamels were led in scoring and rebounding by Tarick Johnson with nine points and eightrebounds. Dominique Klein scored seven points and hauled in eight rebounds.
The Monarchs return to action on Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. when they travel to Philadelphia,PA. to play St. Joseph's. Campbell hosts Coastal Carolina on Saturday at 3p.m.
