Wendy Larry, ODU Head Coach:
"Obviously, nervousness played a tremendous part in this game. You win defending the ball. We didn't have an answer for Cherrise Graham in the 2nd half. Grant did what she wanted to do and she's one of the best out there. Okeisha played great defense. The enthusiasm was something we worried about. We have to rely on some players a lot.."I thought Corrina was a great presence on the court. We have to connect not disect. I was pleased with Okeisha Howard's effort.
Shareese Grant, ODU Sophomore, Guard:
"We didn't execute our plays well at all."
Corrina Turner, ODU Freshman, Center:
"I have bittersweet feelings after tonight. It feels good to be playing but not when you loose. I'm getting more comfortable with playing and practicing."
Okeisha Howard, ODU Senior, Guard:
"Down the stretch we just broke down. We had good defense until the last stretch. When we started miscommunicating. We never know when it will go and when it won't, but you have to keep attacking."
Debbie Ryan, UVA Head Coach:
"The team has to develop their own personality, that will take time. We have two young teams and we are trying to get seasoned veterans out of players who have only been here for one or two years."
Sherrise Graham, UVA Guard:
"We started off a little too hard and too jumpy. It was important for me to stay out of foul trouble, to get back in it."
