NORFOLK, VA. - Old Dominion University freshman pitcher Justin Verlander(Goochland, VA.) ranks 11th nationally in the latest NCAA Baseball statistics with anearned run average of 1.76.
The 6-4 righthander is 6-5 and leads the CAA in earned run average, and battersstruckout looking (44). Verlander is second in the league in strikeouts with 110, one behind William and Mary's Whitt Farr, innings pitched at 97.2, and games started with13.
ODU catcher John Oehler (Audubon, NJ.) leads the league in sacrifice buntswith ten and senior reliever Jonathan Tinkham (Chesapeake, Va.) is second in theleague in appearances with 24 and third in saves with five.
