NORFOLK, VA. - Old Dominion University defeated 22ND ranked JamesMadison, 3-2 behind the pitching of freshman James Burok (Archbald, Pa.) and junior reliever Kevin Evans (Shamong, NJ.). ODU ends the season with a 26-27 record, 8-12 in the CAA, and take two of three games in the series.while JMU is 41-12 overall and 15-5 in the CAA and will be the top seed in this week's CAA Tournament in Manteo, NC.

With the scored tied at two-all, Pedro Pena (Haverhill, MA).singled home Ryan Harvey (Riverside, CA) in the seventh to give the Monarchs the lead for good

The Monarchs scored two unearned runs in the second inning thanks tothree JMU errors. Brent Sollenberger (Chambersburg, Pa.) scored an a throwing error and Ryan Harvey scored on Jess Schoendienst' (Belcamp, MD.) RBI single.

The Dukes got their first run in the sixth as Brent Metheny singled homeJason Cushman who reached on a passed ball and advanced to second on a wild pitch.In the seventh inning, JMU tied the game when pinch hitter Dustin Bowman singledhome Steve Ballowe.

Burok scattered six hits, walked two and struckout a career high tying eight batters in seven-plus innings.He fanned eighth earlier in the year against Navy.Kevin Evans came on in the eighth and picked up his third save of the year.

Brent Metheny, Steve Ballowe led JMU with two hits each on the day. JohnGouzd and Chris Cochran held ODU to four hits with only one of the three runsearned.

Brent Sollenberger ended up the Monarchs top hitter for the year at .316, while Kevin Snapp (Yorba Linda, CA.) led the team in runs batted in with 32. Ryan Harvey led the team with five homers and Justin Verlander (Goochland, VA.)recorded the teams lowest earned run average at 1.90, most strikeouts with 137 and most wins with seven.
