Wilmington, NC. -- The Seahawks of UNC Wilmington lashed out a season high 24 hits anddefeated the Monarchs, 14-2 in a CAA game Sunday. UNCW sweeps the series to run theirrecord to 25-9 overall, and 8-1 in the CAA. ODU drops to 16-18 overall and 1-7 in the CAA.
Junior righthander Chris Coughlin collected the victory, giving up two runs and sevenhits over six innings. Magnus Pilegard had four hits in five at bats, while JamieHemingway, Matt Wright, Russ Simmerman and Chip Grawey each had three hits on the dayfor the Seahawks.
ODU was led by Ryan Harvey with three hits and two runs batted in. Kevin Snapp andJess Schoendienst each had two hits as well.
The Monarchs return to action on Tuesday night when they host Liberty at 7 p.m. at theBud Metheny Complex.
