Norfolk, VA-Old Dominion University and Princeton split a baseball doubleheader this afternoon. Princeton took game one 10-3 while the Monarchs rebounded for a 9-2 victory in game 2. ODU is now 6-9 while the Tigers are 1-2.
In game 1, Princeton broke open a close game with five runs in the top of the sixth inning en route to the 10-3 win.
Adam Balkan was 3-6 for the Tigers with three RBI and Ryan Reich was 3-5 with two RBI.
Tiger reliever Tom Rowland pitched five innings to collect the win, scattering five hits and surrendering just three runs.
In game 2, ODU freshman James Burok (Archbald, PA) picked up his first collegiate win on the mound, pitching seven strong innings and giving up just two runs.
The Monarchs were paced offensively by the duo of Brent Sollenberger (Chambersburg, PA) and Mike Croley (Jupiter, FL). Sollenberger finished 3-4 with two RBI and Croley was 2-4 with one RBI.
ODU and Princeton will play a fourth game tomorrow at 1 p.m.
