Williamsburg, VA-Old Dominion junior forward Ricardo Marsh (Mebane, NC) scored a game-high 20 points this afternoon to lead his Monarch teammates in a 81-53 rout over Colonial Athletic Association foe William & Mary. The Monarchs, winners of three straight, improve to 13-14 overall and 7-10 in the CAA. The Tribe falls to 11-16, 7-10 CAA.
It was no contest early on as Old Dominion vaulted to a 33-22 halftime lead over the Tribe with Marsh scoring 12 of ODU's first-half points.
Kiah Thomas (Norfolk, VA) scored a layup at the start the second half for the Monarchs, triggering a 14-5 run that all but ended the game. Old Dominion pushed their lead to as many as 31 in the second half with a 63% shooting performance in that stanza.
Overall, every player on the Monarch bench was given an opportunity for playing time, and three ODU players scored in double-digits. Marsh led with 20, followed by Rasheed Wright (Greensboro, NC) with 15 and Pierre Greene with 14 points.
The Tribe was led by reserve Sherman Rivers, who tallied 13.
Old Dominion shot a collective .554 for the game compared to the Green & Gold's .288. The Monarchs also collected a 42-30 rebounding advantage.
ODU will host their final regular season game on Monday, February 23 against George Mason.
