HEMPSTEAD, NY. - Hamchetou Miaga (Bamako, Mali) scored 16 of her 18 points in the first half , and sophomore Monique Coker (Bronx, NY.) inished with 20 points to lead the Old Dominion University Lady Monarchs to a 90-57 ColonialAthletic Association victory over the Pride of Hofstra. ODU ranked 18th nationallyby the ASSOCIATED PRESS is 20-5 overall and 16-0 in the CAA, while Hofstrais 8-17 overall and 5-11 in the CAA.

With ODU leading 25-18 with 10:43 left, the Monarchs forced the Pride intosix straight turnovers, leading 35-18 with 6:07 left and building the lead to 19 (47-28)at halftime. Maiga was 7-10 from the floor for 16 points and six rebounds as theLady Monarchs shot a blistering .67.9 (19-28) from the floor.

In the second half, ODU kept the heat on shooting 17-27 from the floor for.655. The victory for ODU was Old Dominion's 22nd straight CAA win and head coachWendy Larry's 350th at Old Dominion. The Lady Monarchs have won 135 of the last136 CAA games.

Sharron Francis (W.Lanham Hills, MD.) dished out a season high 11 assistsalong with four steals. Lucienne Berthieu (Rennes, France) added 14 points andOkiesha Howard (Va. Beach, Va..)scored 10 points.

Hofstra was led by Jessica Olszowski and Jen Brickey with 11 points each. ThePride shot .367 (18-49) from the floor.

The Lady Monarchs return to action on Sunday afternoon when they travel toPhiladelphia, Pa., to take on Drexel at 1 p.m.
