NORFOLK, VA -- Senior Lucienne Berthieu (Rennes, France) was named the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Player of the Week it was announced today by the conference office. The accolade marks Berthieu's second of the 2001-02 season after picking up her first weekly award following play the week of December 10th.

Berthieu averaged 15.0 points and 7.5 rebounds while shooting 66.7 percent from the floor in the Lady Monarch's 1-1 week. In an 84-70 setback to top-ranked Connecticut, the senior forward scored 17 points on 7-of-11 shooting, grabbed eight rebounds and had three assists and three steals. She scored 15 of her season-high 17 points in the second half, including her 1,000th career point, making her the 20th Lady Monarch to reach the century milestone. In Old Dominion's 105-47 triumph over CAA foe William & Mary, she contributed 13 points and seven boards in just 13 minutes of court time.

The Lady Monarchs return to action this evening as they host CAA rival Virginia Commonwealth to close out the season series. Tip-off is slated for 7:35 p.m. at the Fieldhouse.
