TOWSON, Md. (AP) - Ricardo Marsh and Rasheed Wright eachscored 18 points and Old Dominion dominated the boards in a 66-53 victoryover Towson Monday night.
Wright had eight rebounds and Marsh seven for the Monarchs (9-7, 3-3Colonial Athletic Association) who enjoyed a 41-20 edge on the boards.
Sam Sutton scored 14 to lead Towson (5-10, 1-4), which lost at homefor the first time in five outings this season.
Old Dominion took command late in the first half with a 14-0 runthat put them on top 29-21 with 36 seconds left. Marsh and Wrighteach scored five in that span, which saw ODU hit 7-of-8 field goalattempts.
Towson led 21-15 with 4:03 left in the half, but did makeanother field goal before intermission.
The Monarchs led 42-26 early in the second half, but the Tigers cut the lead to eight midway through the half. The Monarchs responded with a three-point play by Marsh at 5:06 to make it 56-45 and Towson got no closer than nine the rest of the way.
Senior Pierre Greene came up with a career high seven steals, just one shy of theschool record of eight set by Oliver Purnell ('75) while Troy Nance led with eightassists. As a team, the Monarchs shot .900 (18-20) from the free throw line.The Monarchs return to action on Saturday, Jan. 19 when they host VCU at7:35 p.m. That will be 80's night, as part of the "Farwell to the Fieldhouse"series.
