WILLIAMSBURG, VA. - The 24th ranked Lady Monarchs rushed out to a26-2 lead in the first nine minutes of play in route to a 105-47 Colonial AthleticAssociation victory over William and Mary. Old Dominion is now 6-4 overall and3-0 in the CAA, while the Tribe is now 5-4 overall and 0-1 in the league.

Senior Sharron Francis (Lanham Hills, MD.) led the way with a double-doublewith 14 points and a career high ten assists. Junior guard Okeisha Howard (Va. Beach,Va.) Was the leading scorer with 20 points, hitting four-of-six from three-point range.Also scoring in double figures were Lucienne Berthieu (Rennes, France) 13, HamchetouMaiga (Bamako, Mali ) 15, Shareese Grant (Va. Beach, Va.) 12 and Monique Coker(Bronx, NY.) 11.

With 11:05 left in the first half, ODU led 26-2, hitting 11 of 16 shots fromthe floor, including 21 straight points before Kia Butts hit two free throws for theTribe to make it 26-4.

Old Dominion finished the night shooting .544 from the floor, second best thisseason since the .600 percent shooting against Towson. The 105 points were the mostpoints for the Lady Monarchs since they scored 110 against the Tribe in 1997-98 andthe first time they broke the century mark since the 108-67 win over Richmond in 1999-00.

Six Lady Monarchs hauled in seven or more rebounds. Tiffany Thompson(Clinton, Md.) and Monique Coker led with eight rebounds each. Hamchetou Maiga ), Lucienne Berthieu , Sharron Francis and Shareese Grant each hauled in seven boards. As a team, ODU outrebounded the Tribe, 62-28.

William and Mary was led by Jen Sobota with 12 points and four steals. TheTribe shot .154 (10-65) from the floor. They were 2-31 (.065) in the first half from thefloor. The Tribe hit only one three-pointer (1-21), while the Lady Monarchs were 11-23(.478).

The Lady Monarchs lead the series against the Tribe 31-3 and have now won29 straight.

Old Dominion returns to action on Friday when they host Virginia Commonwealth at 7:35 p.m. in the ODU fieldhouse.
