WASHINGTON, D.C. (Feb. 11) -- Five players score in double figures and all ten whoplayed scored as the Lady Monarchs defeated American University 91-48Sunday afternoon in Bender Arena. The Lady Monarchs are now 14-7 overalland10-0 in the CAA. Old Dominion has now won 112 straight CAA games.
Sophomore guard Okeisha Howard led with 22 points, seven reboundsand fiveassists. Freshman Myriah Spence (Espanola, NM.) scored 14, and MoniqueCoker (Bronks,NY.) scored 13 with a game high eight rebounds. Hamchetou Maiga (Bamako,Mali)and and Tiffany Thompson (Clinton, Md.) scored ten points apiece.
Old Dominion led 45-28 at halftime, then broke the game open with a20-4 run tostart the second half. With 13:40 left in the game, ODU was up 65-32.
The Lady Monarchs shot .565 (35-62) from the floor and outreboundedAU, 44-24.The Eagles committed 31 turnovers as Thompson and Sharron Francis (W.LanhamHills,Md.) each came up with four steals. Alli Spence (Lafayette, Co.) andFrancis each dishedout six assists.
American ( 4-18/ 2-9) was led by Kaitlin Schuyler with 14 points.Old Dominion returnsto action on Thursday night when they host UNC Wilmington at 7:35 p.m.
